Extremely Unprofessional Management (Popcorn Stay, Kothrud Pune) My experience at Popcorn Stay, Kothrud Pune was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. They promised daily housekeeping, but in reality housekeeping was highly irregular. Sometimes it did not come for a full week, and at best it came once a week. Because of this, the flat would start smelling bad and even flies/insectsbecame an issue. This is unacceptable considering the amount they charge. Basic issues like WiFi were never properly solved, even after repeated complaints. The worst part was how the management handled allegations and blamed me unfairly. I was suddenly dragged into a so-called “laser incident” related to an adjoining building. Later I came to know that the flat owner (whose flat is leased to Popcorn Stay) wrote that the person involved was “recognized by Popcorn Stay” and that a laser device was found.
To be clear: no laser device was ever found on me, and I have proof that I was not involved, yet I was treated like a scapegoat. They also blamed me for other incidents unfairly. For example, there was an issue about painting a wall, which was not even from our flat — it was from another flat, and even that flat had no serious objection. Still, my flatmates showed them a video of me painting, and the management targeted only me, even though multiple people were involved. I have proof of this as well. On top of this, there was no transparency in rent charges. I was charged more than other residents, and when I questioned it, the management reportedly told residents/parents not to disclose rent amounts. Financially, this was the worst part: the total deal was around ₹1.80 lakh (₹1.95 lakh including deposit). I paid ₹1.33 lakh, stayed there for only 2 months, and they still did not refund my ₹1.33 lakh. Overall, this place is stressful, poorly managed, and the way they treat residents is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this PG and getting everything in writing. I need my refund urgently. Highly unprofessional staff & management. Avoid Popcorn Stay.
