So I got in touch with Coho for a room. I read all about their services and knew that they are crooks, but still wanted to pursue as I was getting a great deal. Then I realized they make the contracts in such a way that benefits only them. Even if something is mentioned in the contract, they will most probably not fulfill it if it doesn't suit them. Also, they will never return your security money back, that's a well known fact. I ended up NOT taking a room with them for 2 main reasons. (I) They said they will increase the rent after the lock in period, which was 3 or 6 or 11 months, even if the rent agreement was for more than that time frame (which is illegal by the way and a beach of contact terms); (ii) the sales team was rude and took no interest. When I asked them what if I wanted to vacate the room within lock in period, they told me I can't vacate, because that's not how lock I period works. So I wanted to ask them then how can you increase the rent during the rent agreement term, because that's not how rent agreements work. I knew there was no point availing their services. They are just unscrupulous middlemen wanting to benefit at other's expense. What they are currently doing now during covid outbreak is asking people to vacate properties without giving notice and without returning their security deposits, you can read in their reviews. They are also renting out the remaining properties at lower prices, and telling the people they will increase the rent when the situation normalizes, despite ongoing rent agreement. May be they think it is fair. May be some unsuspecting people will fall prey to their devious schemes. If you read this, please beware. Do yourselves a favor, save your money and find an accommodation somewhere else. Better safe than sorry.
