Very disappoin experience at Town Hostel Santacruz, Mumbai. I checked in after booking 3 beds for 2 days, and the hostel did not meet even basic cleanliness and safety standards. The luggage storage area is extremely dirty and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. They don’t provide locks, and one of the storage drawers doesn’t even have a hook to attach your own lock, making it impossible to secure your belongings. Despite booking 3 beds, we were given only 2 storage drawers, which is very inconvenient. The reception area was also unhygienic—I even saw mice roaming around, which was shocking and raised serious concerns about the hostel’s cleanliness. The dormitory itself is not well maintained, and many guests leave the common area messy. While that may not be entirely the hostel’s fault, the staff should ensure the shared spaces are cleaned regularly. The biggest issue was the bed. When I returned at night to sleep, I found that the bedsheets were dirty and appeared not to have been properly washed. I also found bed bugs on my bed. I informed the staff, and they offered me another bed, but I found bed bugs there as well. Because of this, I was unable to sleep the entire night. This was one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve had. Cleanliness, hygiene, and guest safety should be the top priority, but unfortunately that was not my experience here. I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are properly addressed.
